Privacy policy
Effective date:
InputBeam does not collect or share user data with its developer or third parties. It has no account, advertising, analytics, telemetry or network access. Its core function is to send keyboard, pointer and media-control input that you direct to a Bluetooth device you select.

Data handled on your device
- Keyboard and control input
- Text committed through the phone keyboard and control actions are converted in memory to Bluetooth HID reports and sent directly to the paired host you chose. InputBeam does not persist or log the entered text or HID reports.
- Bluetooth device information
- Android supplies paired-device names and addresses so InputBeam can display targets and establish the requested connection. Names and addresses are used at runtime and are not persisted or logged. If you use remembered reconnect, InputBeam stores only an opaque HMAC-SHA256 fingerprint derived from the selected device identity.
- Motion sensors
- When Air mouse is actively engaged, orientation sensor values are processed in memory to produce relative pointer movement. Sensor values are not persisted or logged, and sensor access stops when that interaction is no longer active.
- App preferences
- InputBeam stores your touchpad and Air mouse speeds, keyboard delay and selected host keyboard layout locally so those choices remain available. These values and the remembered-device fingerprint remain until replaced, app storage is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
Storage and security
Preferences are held in InputBeam's private Android app storage. The key used to create the remembered-device fingerprint is generated in Android Keystore as a non-exportable HMAC key. Cloud backup and device-to-device transfer of InputBeam app data are disabled. You can remove locally retained data by clearing InputBeam's storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app.
Bluetooth pairing, radio security and the handling of input after it reaches the receiving device are controlled by Android and that receiving device. Only connect to a host you trust.
Permissions
InputBeam uses Android's Nearby devices permissions to list paired Bluetooth devices, operate as a Bluetooth HID device and become discoverable when you explicitly start pairing. It does not request internet, location, storage, microphone or accessibility permission.
Data collection and sharing
No data is sent to InputBeam's developer, sold, used for advertising or shared with third parties by the app. InputBeam contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
This website
This website, including the privacy policy, is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process connection and request information, such as your IP address, to deliver and protect the website, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. This website does not include advertising or analytics scripts.
Opening the policy from InputBeam launches your web browser outside the app. It is optional and does not grant InputBeam network access. If you send a privacy enquiry by email, your email address and the message you send are made available to Michael Knap so he can respond.
Changes
Material changes to InputBeam's data handling will be reflected at this canonical URL and identified by an updated effective date.
